Dying Red Hair...?

I have vibrant red hair. It's bright, shiny, and gets oohs and ahs out of people. After 21 years, you kind of get sick of it.

So I'd like to do something to vary it a bit. Things like adding a white stripe somewhere, or intermittent grey sprinkled through. I want CHANGE.

But I know people say you don't want to touch red hair. I don't want to ruin my hair because I know I'll value it later.

Does anyone have suggestions or advice on this endeavor?

dont worry i hav prett viberent red hair to and i know what it's like, red hair is kind of tricky because sometimes the color that u wanted changes a diferent color, as experinses of dying my hair. dont dye your hair white it will just make u look like ur aging or starting to grow gray hair, u can always go with black cuzz i wanted 2 dye it that color and it turned 2 a nice dark brown but u gotta be carful with black cuzz it can make u look really pale, u can also try diferent shades of red or brown, or even streaks

you will never be able to dye your hair back if you dye it black. It is almost impossible to do this at home. The hair has to be stripped of all color and have new color introduced. Black is NOT the way to go. I do like the idea of blond highlights, though Report It

If you HAVE to dye it, use Naturtint. It's good stuff. It's sold at Whole Foods.

I have red hair too, and I got completely sick of it. Try semi-permanent red or black dye. Both go over red hair well, and they'll wash out in a few months. That way you can change it up, but not have to go through the bleaching, re-growing, and all that crap. That's exactly what I did with mine. I have BRIGHT red bangs now with black lowlights.

Why not try blonde? Dying it gray or white will only make you look older! Why do you want to look older? Wait till it's really gray for that! To me dying your hair white or gray is like saying HRM how about I go sit in the sun all day and get wrinkles? I think I'd look good with wrinkles!
