Highlighting Red hair with Blonde streaks?

I'm highlighting a friend's hair and I want to dye it red first, like a light auburn, and highlight it with blonde. Should I pick a golden blonde that will compliment the red? Or will it look to brassy and should I pick an ash blonde instead?

golden blonde will *pop* and stand out of the red. ash blonde will blend and be subtle.

i dyed my hair red not too long ago and added chunky golden blonde %26amp; i love it! i'm 18 though, so right now i like the pop effect of the blond. if your friend is older/more mature, opt for the ash blonde

The ONLY people who should be using color on hair are hairstylists who are experienced and competent at it. Average schmucks aren't qualified. Not all hairstylists are qualified. You need a hairstylist who has proven experience with it.

I have a long association with the hair business. I can't tell you the number of times I've seen women call in or come in furious, crying, or whatever because either they messed up their own hair or someone else who wasn't qualified messed it up.

Change your own oil. That's less complex. Even cut your hair, it'll grow back. But leave the color to the professionals.

Hey, well I 閳?the idea!!! I died my hair dark brown (Its a bit lighter) and then I put blonde%26amp;bright red streaks in my hair!!! I 閳绢櫔 it. Since then I've been going for bright and funky colours. But right now its just black(Y)!
