What's wrong with red hair?

okay in school today I saw someone picking on a red haired kid(I stood up for him in case you're wondering) and afterwards when discussing this with my friends found out that most people my age anyway(17) think red hair is ugly!Okay I don't have red hair, I have brown hair(even though in summer the sunlight gives it a shade of copper colour),but I think a lot of people look good with red hair.

Why do so many people think red hair is ugly?

It's not a matter of looking good or bad, it's a matter of being a minority. The vast majority of Americans have either dark hair or blonde hair. Because the red-head is "different" he/she is singled out for getting picked on because he/she is a convenient target. Usually it's the guys that get picked on, though, because typically, fair skin is something that is associated as a feminine trait and is something that is desired in a girl, but not a guy. Altough if these people that like singling out red-heads were ever forced to move to an Irish area like South Boston they would change their tune quickly (or get accustomed to getting beat down on a regular basis by one of the Irish gangs)

I think many women are unattracted to red-heads because it is far from the "Tall, Dark, Handsome" ideal that many women desire, but as I said earlier, red-headed women are more desired by men, so its not the liability for women that it is for men. But there are exceptions, i've had some women go crazy over me because of my hair color and some give me the disgusted eye, so it also depends on the person.

i dont know why people think that.. i'm 17 too, and i always see people singling out the "red heads" at our school.

maybe it has to do with the whole 'carrot top' thing. weird.

In my opinion, I think red hair is sexy. Red-haired beauties include Shirley Manson, Lindsay Lohan, Julianne Moore and Rita Hayworth.

Perhaps the ginger look is just something people either really like or really dislike. Not everybody thinks that being unable to tan and having pale skin with freckles is attractive.

no way! blonde and brown can get boring, red hair is a breath of fresh air, I think it's extremely attractive and when I see a guy with it I'm imediatly drawn to look at them to see if I think the rest of them is attractive or not, it may be my Irish heritage but I love red hair.
