Red hair????

hi i had medium brown hair with bleach blonde highlights in, i have just dyed a semi permanent mahogany dye over it and it has come out very red! would be ok to dye a darkish brown permanent dye over to calm the red down a bit???? thanks

Yes, I think you can do that. I have brown hair, and gone from brown w/blonde to brown w/ red highlights, the only trouble was that the red faded relatively quickly, red is the hardest colour to keep, I'd get it done at a salon though. A drastic change is better handled by a professional.

Yes you can redye it but not right away, if you dye your hair before the recommended time-frame you risk damaging you hair.

It should tell you on the box the recommended time frame, when I took hairdressing many years ago the time frame was 3 months but they have improved the dyes since so the time-frame may be shorter.
