I have red hair.. and it's a little past my shoulder. It has many layers in it, kind of a shaggy style.. and I hate it! I want to color it, but my mom says I can only get highlights.. what should I do?! HELP!!

If you dont like the red, get lowlights in a darker, almost brown color...it will take away from some of the red.

Get alot of highlights so it is pretty much dyed but not really cause it will just have alot of highlights!!! Sorry thats all i got. But it cant be that bad can it???

Red is an amazing color. One of my bestfriends has red hair. Please, please never fully color your hair ! Do you know how many people would kill for red hair ? Red is the HARDEST color to put into your hair and it never stays in. I colored mine red about a month ago and it's already faded, and I used a permanent coloring treatment. When you get older I swear you will get so so sooooo many people commenting on how they love your hair. If you really really want a slight change, get the Sunstreak spray in highlighter at like Walmart and just put in a few highlights. I swear on my life, your hair will get you places.

i agree with some of these people: id KILL for natural red hair! when i am allowed to dye my hair, I'm dyeing it red. lets switch. i got black hair with natural red highlights in the sun. (my aunt says i got BLUE highlights) why don't you get darker highlights. but either way you wont be able to give your yahoo avatar highlights.
