I know it's not a simple prediction, by any means, but I was just looking for a good guess. I have brown hair, my husband has red hair. Both of my parents have brown hair (one basically black hair actually), his mother had brown hair and we are not sure of what color his father had because he never knew him and his mother passed away when he was a baby. What chance is there for a readheaded child?

When I was born I was basically a red head. Neither one of my parents had red hair tho. It was on my moms side. But as I grew it changed to blonde (which was really weird no blondes in my family) and then to brunette which is where i am at today. So it changes whenever they are born.

there is quite a big chance for a red haired baby, red is dominant such as black...blond is not...but if your husband has brown hair in his DNA and you have brown, and brown because of you parents, you child may have brown...if your dad has black, it means he has brown too in his DNA, and you mum has got, brown, brown, hope you understand....:)

Hey moron, if the red gene was dominant, then every redhead would have at least one parent with red hair. The truth is that the genes which encode for hair color are more complex than first thought. It is not a simple case of basic Mendelian genetics. Get an education before you speak.
